This plaque and cairn celebrates the centennial of the Village of Bancroft. Today, a local craftsman was making good use of the cairn to affix his raffle prize poster.

The plaque reads:

PREMIER OF ONTARIO
ON OCTOBER 25, 1979
TO COMMEMORATE
THE VILLAGE OF BANCROFT'S
