Stephanie died Jan. 13, 2012. She and her twin sister grew up in Lampasas, where they attended local schools, graduating from Lampasas High School in 2003.

Stephanie earned a degree in psychology and sociology from Tarleton State University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was a child protective services investigator for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
