This concrete deck bridge was built by the Roads and Transport Authority (NSW) [RTA] in 1994, as indicated by the embedded cast bronze plaque on the eastern end of the bridge, on the northern side. This is quite close to the intersection of Grafton Road, and Kempsey Road.
This five span reinforced concrete bridge has a very slight curve to the length of it. The deck is supported by six pre-made concrete I-Beams, which rest on 'T-shaped' concrete pylons.
There is an identical RTA plaque on the western end of the bridge, on the southern parapet: S30° 30.932' E152° 3.712'. Directly opposite this plaque on the northern parapet, is a bronze plaque for the Opening of the bridge. It was Opened on 9th December, 1994, by the Honourable Ray Chappell, MP.
The bridge was funded by the 3 x 3 Petrol Tax levy. [This was an added 3 cents/litre of fuel tax by the NSW government, in addition to the 'regular' 3.53c/litre Federal excise for road works, and was for three years, specifically to fund NSW road works, with 60% of the funds raised being spent on country roads.
