"Unlike those in the nave, the supports near the triumphal arch, at the entrance of the sanctuary, are overloaded with sculptures, masks, between foliage, dominate symbols. In the light of traditional iconography, coherence This set is not always clear but it deserves attention.

There existed in Lussac, place cited at the end of the 8th century, a Romanesque church Saint-Maixent, a priory Sainte-Madeleine and a chaplaincy Saint-Roch. In the 17th century, worship was transferred from the old parish church to the priory.

The building was considerably overhauled at the end of the 19th century on the plans of Jousset, architect of Tours, and consecrated on September 3rd, 1895.

The church retains some vestiges of the medieval period, mainly at the bedside and the facade. Some stones of the southern gable thus show inverted N-shaped lapidary marks.

Access to the nave through a span under platform forming narthex. On both sides, according to a device frequently used at the end of the 19th century, the lateral spaces were occupied by the baptismal font and the access to the tribune.

The nave includes 4 neo-gothic barlong bays. Their ribs fall on strong capitals simply spanned, themselves supported by small columns resting on coarse cul-de-lamps. This large space, without blind spots, is perfect for the liturgy. "
