K slavnostnímu položení základního kamene a zahájení stavby Národního domu došlo 12. kvetna 1896 a stavba predního traktu byla ukoncena už v ríjnu téhož roku! Od listopadu poskytoval Národní dum prístreší ceskému gymnáziu a to až do roku 1899.
V roce 1899 byla zahájena stavba dnešního zadního traktu Národního domu vcetne velkého sálu. Stavba byla zahájena v únoru a slavnostní otevrení probehlo 4. cervence 1900. Po této dostavbe se Národní dum již stal plnohodnotným centrem kulturního dení.
The solemn laying of the foundation stone and the commencement of the construction of the National House took place on May 12, 1896, and the construction of the front end was completed already in October of the same year! Since November, the National House provided shelter to the Czech grammar school until 1899.
In 1899 the construction of today's rear tract of the National House was started, including a large hall. The construction began in February and the opening ceremony took place on July 4, 1900. After this completion, the National House has become a full-fledged cultural center.
