[DE] "Die erste "Evangelische Christengemeinde" gründete sich 1821 in Mayen. Diese hielt ihre Gottesdienste noch in einem Raum in der Genovevaburg ab.
Erst 1837 wurde die erste Evangelische Kirche in der Mayen in der Bäckerstraße errichtet.
Zum Bau hatte Friedrich Wilhem III. einen Beitrag von 4000 Talern geleistet und die Mayener Grubenbesitzer lieferten kostenlos die Bausteine.
Dieses erste Kirchengebäude wurde, wie auch das Pfarrhaus, am 2. Januar 1945 vollständig zerstört.
Der Wiederaufbau erfolgte an der heutigen Stelle "Im Trinnel". Hier wurde 1952/53 ein schlichtes, dem Stadtviertel einen markanten Akzent gebendes, Gotteshaus nebst Pfarr - und Gemeindehaus sowie Kindergarten errichtet."
