This bridge with 6 arches spans the canal from Nantes to Brest. The Pont du Moulin du Roy was built under Louis XIII, at the beginning of the 17th century to replace a ford used since ancient times. When the Alder was canalized, this bridge too low was an obstacle to the passage of the barges of the canal, it was thus amputated of an arch to make easier the traffic of the barges.
A new bridge, above, was built nearby.
