This is a small museum though interesting with its primary collections are about the surrounding areas of: Lovell, Kane, Dryhead, Hillsboro, Himes, Spence, and Iona from 1880 to 1965. The Lovell-Kane Area Museum is a nonprofit museum and is staffed by volunteers.

The small item collections are in glass enclosed cases with some floor displays. Railroad history and some colorful past residents vignettes are being prepared for future displays.

The museum had, not long before our visit, managed to obtain a new building directly behind the visitor centre. On the day we visited a small group of volunteers were setting up the museum, so it was still well short of being officially open. Luckily they noticed me taking pix of the exterior and invited me in to have a gander at their pride and joy. They didn't have to ask twice. One advantage of our arriving too early was that they were able to talk, supplying information on items in the museum and stories that went along with some of them. I only wish now that I had recorded the conversation, as I now remember very little of what was said, though I do remember that it was both informative and entertaining.
