While this station was opened in July 1867, it was named "Wascoes", being renamed as Blaxland in April 1879. It is at 236 metres elevation, and owned by RailCorp. It is 71 kilometres from Central Station.

It is now an electrified line. [Unknown date]

"Until 1879, the area was known as Wascoe, named to honour the family of John Outrim Wascoe, the licensee of the second Pilgrim Inn." (visit link)
