This raised wooden boardwalk runs along the beach of Monte Gordo and is the longest boardwalk in the Algarve.

It is named after Dr António Almeida Santos, a former parliamentary president who frequently spent his holidays in the small town and “contributed a lot to establishing Monte Gordo beach” as a tourist hot spot.
The first three kilometre stretch opened in July 2017 and was the further extende until it had a total length of 7 kilometres by February 2018.
The main access to the board walk is from the mid spot of the promenade in Monte Gordo near to Solverde Casino car park. There are however many access points from car parks and the promenade.>br>
A number of kiosks holding snack bars and shops etc are currently being built next to the board walk.
The co-ordinates for the way mark are at the point the access point from the car park leads to the main stretch of the waymark.
