Near the Blaxland train station, in the lower Blue Mountains, is this Barbers Shop Pole.

With Men's haircuts at $18, and being so close to the Blaxland Railway Station, this is a popular place to have hair cut. The shop has a single, rotating white, red and blue striped, glass covered pole, with metal caps on either end. It seems that there quite a few "Sam's Barber Shop", but I don't think that they are a 'franchise', just the coincidence in naming.

While he offers a discount for seniors, all of the model photos are of much younger stylings.

Immediately outside the shop is a bust of Gregory Blaxland, one of the three explorers that 'Crossed the Blue Mountains' in 1813, and for whom this 'suburb' of the City of Blue Mountains is named after.
