Ralph Harold Wombacker, 65, of Connellsville, died March 14, 2014. He was born October 7, 1948, a son of the late Harold and Mary Lou (Hopes) Wombacker in the small town of Moscow, PA, where many of Ralph's family members still reside in nearby communities.

Ralph was a 1966 graduate of Sharpsville Senior High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Park Planning from Penn State University and his Master's Degree in Park Administration from the University of Oregon.

Ralph was a United States Air Force Vietnam Veteran having served his country from May 1968 to April 1972.

He was Executive Director of the Connellsville Redevelopment Authority from 1978 until his retirement on April 1, 2008. Ralph was a member of B.P.O. Elks 503, Connellsville Lions Club and Yough River Trail Council.

In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed golf, playing cards, hunting and fishing with family and friends, bowling with Topper's and being in the great outdoors.

Ralph was proud and thankful for many accomplishments of the Connellsville Redeveloment Authority and civic organizations to which he belonged. The city of Connellsville, with it's beautiful surroundings and good people became a true home to Ralph and his family.
