The gentleman this bench honors Pastor Grimm , a longtime and faithful member of Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton, where he had served as pastor for three years. Prior to that, he served at Mt. Nebo Church of God, Champion, for seven years. Wendell was also well known as the proprietor of the Wendell S. Grimm Insurance Agency, Scottdale, which in later years included Real Estate Services. He was a 50-year Mason of Marion Lodge 562 F and AM, Scottdale, and also held memberships as a Shriner and Tall Cedars. He was a past member and president of the Scottdale Kiwanis Club and a 50-year member of the Ligonier American Legion. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he also served as a first class petty officer in the Navy during the Korean War.
