On the sign reads (translated):
Here, the "Elektro-Werk Unterelbe" (EWU) for the city of Altona was operated from the year 1913. It supplied all households and businesses with electricity.In 1913 the EMU supplied at least 7.106244 KW to the Altona population. By 1928, this power could be increased to 7.2514458 KW. During the Second World War, the EWU was partially destroyed and demolished except for this wall (which was preserved as a "memorial").
