Along with the Propeller, Nautical Flag Pole, there are also other plaques on three, of the four faces of the concrete pyramid, commemorating the involvement of locals in other conflicts. But this cast bronze plaque on the fourth face is specifically for 19 local soldiers who didn't return alive from the Vietnam War. The plaque reads:
VIETNAM WAR
Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley men
who gave their lives
1962-1973
