The lake is a popular destination all year round thanks to its beautiful forest location offering absolute calm. The numerous benches scattered along the shoreline are an ideal place to sit, rest and enjoy the fabulous views.

It is in summer that this moorland lake, which lies within a nature reserve, comes to life. Many waterbirds call the Möserer See home, and if you are lucky you may even get your own personal duck escort as you swim across the lake. Fever clover grows in the shallow areas, while pretty wild flowers (including alpine roses) can be found along the shore.

We walked the romantic hiking trail around Lake Mösern in September 2017 and stopped at the only restaurant on the lake for a snack while listening to an elderly man playing the harp dressed in authentic Austrian clothing. It was one of the highlights of our holiday in Austria.
