Enclosed by a wrought iron fence this looks as if it's recently had a face lift. The focus is a timber cross with wrought iron supports for the cross members, a small anchor icon to the front and back of the joint, it's bolted to a marble and concrete plinth which has the original main dedication plaque attached at an angle. On three sides of the cross is a raised bed containing shrubs and grasses.
The memorial garden is surrounded by fence inside which have been planted evergreen shrubs. There is a seat just inside the gate.
The main plaque reads:-
IN LOVING MEMORY
OF THE MEN OF
TERRINGTON ST.CLEMENT
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
IN THE FIGHT FOR FREEDOM
IN THE TWO WORLD WARS
1914-1918 1939-1945
THEIR NAME LIVETH
FOR EVERMORE
THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD
AS WE WHO ARE LEFT GROW OLD
AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM
NOR THE YEARS CONDEM;
AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN
AND IN THE MORNING
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
A small new plaque, placed here after the face lift, is in black lettering etched on a brass plate in a black surround. It reads:-
DEDICATED TO THE
HONOUR AND SACRIFICE
OF THE MEN AND WOMEN
WHO GAVE THEIR LIFE
SO THAT WE
MAY ENJOY PEACE
