This blue plaque is located to the right of the northern entrance of the fish auction hall in Hamburg - Altona.
It provides information in two languages, German and English, on the history of the former fish auction hall.
The Fish Auction Hall (German: Fischauktionshalle) was built in Altona, today part of Hamburg, Germany, in 1895/96 at the newly constructed fishing port. Since 1984 it is a cultural heritage monument, which shows the importance of fish trade for the former rival cities of Hamburg and Altona.
