Obituary: "He was born November 11, 1958 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of Dorothy M. Branch Spencer and the late Leslie Spencer. On November 21, 2005, he married Mary Anne Gowin Spencer. She survives of the home.

"Ben is also survived by his mother; daughter, Maggie Gowin of Fulton; brothers Jim Spencer of Seattle, Washington; George Spencer and John Spencer both of New Bloomfield, Missouri; sisters Linda Spencer of Branson, Missouri, Rose Spencer of New Bloomfield, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

"Ben was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

"Ben was employed by Sanofi for over 25 years in the agriculture business. He enjoyed gardening, farming, trout fishing and had a love for animals.

"Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, March 24, 2014 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Unity Baptist Cemetery, Toledo, Missouri."
