This wooden bench is painted a medium shade of green. It has two semi-broad wooden slats for the backrest, with the rectangular, brushed stainless steel plaque screwed to the top slat.
The seat has three broad wooden slats for the bottom part, and they are fixed to two cast concrete supports. They are on a recently paved section beside the arbor from the intersection of Farquhar and Bent Streets, at the southwestern corner of Central Park - the 'town common' or 'green' of Wingham.
The plaque on the bench that faces the Catholic Church over the other side Farquhar Street reads:
Donated in the memory of
Private David Manning Glenn
NX86688
Private Hilton Glenn
NX47373
2/1 Australian General Hospital
"Lest We Forget"
I am uncertain if these are the same David Glenn, father to Hilton Glenn born in September 1900, mentioned in a genealogy site:
Sarah Glenn
