Pend Oreille County Historical Museum is one of the most interesting museums we have visited, including those that took all day to tour. The museum complex consists of the historic I. & W. N. Depot building built in 1908 which houses the gift shop and displays on the first and second floors. This Wheeler-Wilson Treadle Sewing Machine is on the second floor.

The Wheeler-Wilson Sewing Machine is about mid 1870's to 1880's, and most likely the straight needle version rather than the previous curved needle. Though this one does not seem complete, it is interesting to note that the duel foot petals rather than the more traditional treadle is consistent with this era.
