Le 3 décembre 1985, l’UNESCO inscrivait l’arrondissement historique du Vieux-Québec sur sa prestigieuse Liste du patrimoine mondial. Québec a été la première agglomération urbaine située au nord du Mexique à recevoir cet honneur.

et pour souligner le 50e anniversaire de sa création,
le gouvernement du Québec
désigne ce lieu
parc de l'UNESCO
Cette plaque a été dévoilée par le premier ministre, monsieur Jacques Parizeau, en présence du directeur général de l'UNESCO, monsieur Federico Mayor, et du maire, monsieur Jean-Paul L'Allier, en cette Année des Nations unies pour la tolérance, le 21 mai 1995.
On December 3, 1985, UNESCO inscribed the Historic District of Old Quebec on its prestigious World Heritage List. Quebec City was the first urban agglomeration north of Mexico to receive this honor.

This plaque was unveiled by the Prime Minister, Mr. Jacques Parizeau, in the presence of the Director General of UNESCO, Mr. Federico Mayor, and the Mayor, Mr. Jean-Paul L'Allier, in this Year of the United Nations for tolerance, May 21, 1995.
