A Time-Temp sign is part of Zip's sign out front of the burger palace on the east side of Highway 395, at the extreme south end of Colville. We suppose they should add Bookcrossing Zone to the sign, as it has been a bookcrossing zone since 2014 with the release of The Cat Who Talked to Ghosts (The Cat Who...), by Lilian Jackson Braun, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.
The first Zip's opened in Kennewick Washington in 1953, and the rest is history. There really was a guy named “Zip.” Robert “Zip” Zuber built his first Zip’s Drive-in with the motto “Thrift and Swift”, wisely figuring to serve the workers, scientists, and their families coming to the Tri-Cities to work in the new nuclear industry.
