The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center in Duncan is a beautiful museum which documents the endeavors of the early pioneers and cattle drovers who moved the early West forward in the early days of our nation. In front of the museum near a large sculpture of a cattle drive, is a walkway which curves south to north. At the beginning and end of the trail are bronze markers describing the Chisholm Trail. Along the walkway, numerous markings show the rivers, state lines, cities and ranches that these cattle drives traversed. This is a beautiful, visual history of this remarkable part of our history.

Each paver is gray with a black etching of a longhorn steer head, and five horseshoes. Some were donated by families of the men who actualy made these cattle drives between 1967 and 1875.
