The Queen Emma Bridge is a pontoon bridge across St. Anna Bay in Willemstad, Curaçao built in 1888. The bridge swings opens to enable the passage of ships, hence its nickname "The Swinging Old Lady". The bridge is 167 m (548 feet) in length, and 9.80 m (32 feet) wide. It has 16 pontoons. It opened in 1888 and was restored twice in 1939 and 2006.
The stamp depicts the view from the Queen Emma Bridge looking towards the 18th century merchant buildings of Handelskade. The stamp was issued by Curacao on September 27, 2012 as part of a set of 10 stamps in the tourism destination series.
