Mostly an island on the Spokane River at the edge of downtown Spokane, Riverfront Park is the most used park in the city by far.

As a result it has collected more bookcrossing zone books than the rest of Spokane's parks combined, 51 by August 23, 2012. The first book to be released in Riverfront Park was Fillets of Plaice, by Gerald Durrell, on Monday, September 06, 2004.

100-acres in size, the park has an IMAX theatre, skating rink, curling rink, Centennial Trail walking trail, a ferris wheel, mini golf, a skyride over the falls and a small amusement park for kids. Built on the site of for Expo '74, the 1974 World's Fair, there's lots of history and offbeat attractions here, too, like the Garbage Eating Goat and the World's Largest Red Wagon.
