While this Bench has a great view of the Marina, it is not a sort that I have frequently seen. The grey slats are of recycled plastic, and there are several different widths of slats. For the back rest there are two broader slats, with the plaque on the topmost, with a 'half-width' slat in between the two. There is a very slight backward curve to the backrest.
The seat part of the bench has a slight concave curve to it, with two slightly broader slats at the back, and two narrower slats at the front. The plastic slats are fixed to three cast aluminium supports; with the end two having a curved armrest protruding through the slats. The legs of the Bench are quite shapely.
The Dedicated Bench, for Chief Engineer, Kenneth Binkin
The brushed stainless steel plaque is printed, and riveted to the top plastic slat. The text reads:
CHIEF ENGINEER

BINKIN
17.9.1940 - 15.1.2016

Marmong Point is on the western side of a northern arm of Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle. Drive along Marmong Street, and then turn into Nanda Street, and you will right at the Marina. There seemed to be enough parking.
