With Parramatta being a Colonial and convict settlement point, there is a lot of history to discover, and the friendly staff can provide information maps and leaflets on walking trails, historic sites and accommodation in the area. At the entrance to the Visitor Centre is a very handy map, if the Centre is closed.
The Parramatta Heritage, and Visitors Centre was opened in August 1998.
