Jimmy's Down the Street Restaurant is definitely a favorite hangout for locals as it was very crowded when we visited. In fact it was a 30 minute wait to be seated, we decided to forego breakfast. There were so many customers, we decided not to photograph the inside.
"Jimmy's Down the Street has been at its current location near Downtown Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for 50+ years. It started as a small soda shop and breakfast restaurant. Through the years it transitioned into a diner and went through a number of different names and owners.
On June 18, 2012, Mike and Gretchen Surber bought Jimmy's Down The Street and have been dedicated to creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for casual breakfast & lunch dining. While retaining many of the staff and menus from the previous owners, Mike & Gretchen have added a few 'specialties' to the menu, and their focus remains on providing great service, great food, and plentiful portions of scratch-made comfort food to tourists and locals alike. Also, Mike & Gretchen have created a special "Military Corner" of the restaurant to honor our nations heroes from military, law enforcement, and firefighting services.
