The Southern Pacific Railroad in 1901 built this 2-story hotel building, with overflow annexes, to encourage tourism in the area and to house railroad section crews and maintenance-of-way employees. The hotel property features several contemporaneous ancillaries classified as Contributing elements of the historic district, including two board-and-batten cabins adapted from rail section houses and a pump house.
the 2-story Antlers Hotel building features double gallery porches ornamented by chamfered posts and spindled detailing. Recently rehabilitated following the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation, the hotel retains integrity of association with the establishment of the rail line and the period of significance.
