In the 1990s, Canada Post issued a series of pre-stamped envelopes featuring various views of all the provincial capital cities of Canada. This one shows downtown St. John’s as seen from the south side of the harbor. Clearly visible is the Basilica of St. John’s and many of the brightly colored houses for which St. John’s is famous. New in the photo though is “The Rooms” which wasn’t built yet when this piece of postal stationery was issued. (And I don’t know what happened to that guy in the boat.)
