"Det danske Totalforsvars historie samlet på et sted.
Museet er beliggende i historiske bygninger fra tiden omkring 2. Verdenskrig, med bla. gigantisk tysk flyhangar og kommandobunker:
1940-1945: Tysk vandflyveplads - én af tre operative tyske flyvepladser under krigen
1945-1949: Flygtningelejr for tyske flygtninge i Danmark, én af de mange store flygtningelejre i Aalborg
Intet andet sted i Danmark finder man Totalforsvarets historie og besættelsestiden 1940 - 1945 udstillet under samme tag.
I udstillingerne kan man komme tæt på håndskydevåben, jagerfly, politimotorcykler og meget andet materiel, som har været en del af det danske Totalforsvar i krig og fred.
Museet omfatter flere særudstillinger om bla. 2. Verdenskrig; Tyske flygtninge i Danmark efter krigen; Aalborg som Garnisonsby siden 1779 mm."

"The collections of the museum cover all branches of the Danish Total defence comprising the army, the Air force, the Home Guard, the Police and the Civil Defence (now Rescue Services). Further there are comprehensive exhibitions on the subject: Denmark during World War II and on Aalborg as an important garrison city.
Finally there is a unique exhibition on the weapons production of the company Danish Industry Syndicate (DISA). Emphasis in all exhibitions is on the time period from the beginning of World War II up till the present time."
