The City Tavern, formerly called Temple Bar, is located in the heart of the historic city of Chester and dates back to 1872.
It is a Grade II listed building, the description by Historic England can be seen at the following link. (visit link)

"The City Tavern is a large pub on a busy shopping street. A relatively non-descript from bar leads onto a brick and wood floor two-storey rear which was formerly a church hence a salvaged confession box and pulpit. Stained glass, chandeliers, tapestries and other artefacts add to the medieval / ecclesiastical theme. A back courtyard has an attractive Chester mock Tudor / Roman mural. Bouncers at weekends for karaoke nights and what not." Source: (visit link)
