The Soldiers Memorial Hall was erected in memory of those who served in World War One. The foundation stone of the hall was laid by Sir William Sowden on the 12th May 1925. The hall was officially opened on the 20th April 1926 by the president of the Returned Sailors' and Soldiers' Imperial League of Australia (Major W. F.J. McCann).
