By accounts in the Sydney Morning Herald, and the Daily Telegraph - regional newspapers, a 9 metre long steel beam of the roof over the Level 2 part of the car park side of the shopping complex collapsed before 7am [Firefighters arrived at 6.55 am], before the main Shopping Centre opened at 9am.
Some 500 - 600 people were evacuated from the shopping centre, but while vehicles were damaged, there was no injuries to people. The beam collapse brought down a section above, which included Plant Room, Toilets, Exhaust Fans, and Electrical Switchboards. It seems that at first the extent of the damage, and repercussions weren't evident, as it wasn't until 9am that shoppers, and Traders were evacuated.
