Le moulin de Ballan est un exemple de type moulin-pendu :roue hydraulique suspendue .
il a fonctionné comme tel pendant 500 ans ! C'est en 1973 qu'un nouveau un bâtiment attenant est construit.
Le grand moulin de Ballan- miré à succédé au moulin hydraulique il est actionné par l'énergie électrique. C'est un moulin meunier qui fourni de la farine aux boulangeries de la région.
