Jahrhundert war Yzeure ein Zentrum der Töpferei.

In der Karolingerzeit (8.-10. Jahrhundert) gehörte Yzeure zur Grafschaft Autun. Im 14. Jahrhundert machten die Herzöge von Bourbon das nahe Moulins zu ihrer Hauptstadt."
