During the creation of the city, a bridge was built at the bottom of Notre-Dame church. Destroyed over the centuries, it was rebuilt in the 15th century.
He then bore two gates linked to the fortifications, one of which, on the left bank, was surmounted by the prison, while at the other end of the bridge stood a chapel.
The medieval remains only the central arch and the forbits, the rest dating from the nineteenth century.
