This information sign is located at Refugi des Coll Baix on the La Victoria peninsula and informs about the wild goats that can be found here.
In the mountains of Tramuntana and Llevant, in Majorca, and in a minority proportion, inhabits the Mallorcan wild goat, known as "fina", which is derived from the first goats introduced by man in ancestral times. These adapted to the island ecosystems acquiring their own characteristics, different from any other domestic goat. Its importance is reflected in the European Mammal Assessment (EMA), of the European Commission, which includes the current detailed status of 260 species of mammals according to the criteria of the Red List of the World Union for Nature (IUCN) , among which is the Mallorcan wild goat.
