While Angelina Williams doesn't have the oldest headstone in historic Mount Carmel Cemetery, her 1852 burial was the first burial here, on land donated by her "Uncle Billy," W.J. Williams.

This modern marble headstone was placed long after this young lady was buried here. On the front, the family name is on the base, a cross is at the top, followed by:

Angelina Williams
Daughter of
Mr. & Mrs. John Williams
1850-1852

There is no such thing as death,
in nature nothing dies.
From each sad remnant of decay
some form of life arise.

On the reverse is some history:

This is the first grave in the original four acres tract of land donated by Uncle Billy Williams to start Mt. Carmel Cemetery in 1852. The continued growth from four acres to almost one hundred acres in the first one hundred years of its history is certainly a tribute to Mr. Williams. Much credit is to be given to the many public spirited citizens who have continued this work because of their love for the community and their fellow man.

There is no indication as to when this headstone was placed, but the mention of "the first hundred years" of the cemetery's history suggests 1952 or later.

Just down the road from the cemetery is a 1975 Texas Historical Marker, which provides some complementary background:

William J. "Uncle Billy" Williams (1826-1918), whose family settled this area in 1844, set aside 3.5 acres of this cemetery in 1852 for burial of his two-year-old niece, Angelina Williams. Oldest gravestones are those of his parents, Elizabeth (1789-1861) and George Williams (1786-1863). First called Williams Cemetery, it became known as Mt. Carmel after a Methodist church by that name was built nearby in 1883. An open chapel was added to the property in 1891; another erected in 1920 still stands. Maintained by Mt. Carmel Cemetery Association, the site has grown to 37.6 acres and contains about 10,000 graves.
