The aloe industry in Aruba was founded in 1890 by Cornelis Eman, who founded the present day Aruba Aloe Balm N.V., the oldest aloe company in the world and one of the first companies to formulate and manufacture aloe based products.
Th aloe vera field extends for 590 feet along Pitastraat and is 450 feet deep at its westernmost boundary. All the aloe plants used to create their products is harvested from this field.
