The bronze plaque beside the Anti-Aircraft Gun reads:
"WWII Anti-Aircraft Gun (40 mm Bofors)
Donated by 9 Pl C Coy 41st Bn RNSWR
Restored by H.F. Hand Constructors, South Kempsey."
Painted in a typical khaki colour, it is in a good condition, and I would think it was painted in the last five years. While there is the potential for an axle to mounted fore, and aft, of this particular gun, it only has the four adjustable legs to stabilise it at present. The 40 mm Bofors Anti-Aircraft gun was commonly used in the Second World War, and as it was made in Sweden, it ended up being used by both the Allied, and the Axis forces (mostly in Europe). While it came 'into service' in the mid-1930's it continued to be used by various forces with some modification even during the Gulf War. [Wiki: (
