RSL Hall - 1933 - Kempsey, NSW, Australia - Dated Architectural Structures Multifarious on Waymarking.com

The two white marble plaques are of identical, but unusual shape, that reminds me of an animal's pelt. The plaque on the left-hand side of the door (western side) has the following text:

  This stone was set by His Excellency
   Sir Philip Woolcott Game,
      G.B.E, K.C.B, D.S.O.
	  Dec 8th 1933
Dedicating this Hall to the lasting memory
   of sacrifices made in the World War.
	  1914 - 1918

And, the plaque on the right-hand side (eastern) of the double doors has the following text:

       This Memorial Hall
  was erected by the Returned Sailors
    & Soldiers Imperial League.
       Macleay Sub-Branches
with funds donated by Citizens of this District
	   8th Dec. 1933

The Kempsey RSL Hall is a separate building, to the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club, right beside it; to the north and its entry, to the east. The building is rather ordinary, but functional, being rectangular and single-storey. It has a hip and gable roof, with a verandah to the south, supported by 10 columns. There are gentle ramps from either side to the double doors in the centre of the long side, or two steps, if coming in from the Nautical Flag Pole, past the "Drop Tank", and "AA Gun" on display. There is a large Australian Military Forces crest on the patio gable which faces the Kempsey cenotaph and Nautical Flag Pole.
