[FR] Le pèlerinage fut confié en 1614 aux Oratoriens, toute jeune congrégation fondée par le Père de Bérulle. Grâce à l'action des religieux et le mécénat des grands du royaume, s'élève, au cours du XVIIe siècle, un imposant ensemble architectural : église déclarée "Chapelle Royale" et maison de l'Oratoire, siège d'une école de Théologie.
Aux côtés de Marie de Médicis et de Louis XIII, c'est plus particulièrement le Cardinal de Richelieu qui initiera un vaste chantier à travers l'édification d'une chapelle votive et funéraire selon les plans de son architecte Jacques Lemercier. Suivront le Surintendant des Finances Abel Servien et la Reine Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche. Avec ses 27 mètres de hauteur sous coupole, la rotonde présente un volume intérieur impressionnant (avant la construction des Invalides, le rotonde des Ardilliers est réputée être la plus vaste du royaume).
À l'intérieur il faut remarquer le tableau de Philippe de Champaigne "la Présentation au Temple" et le maître-autel maniériste signé des retabliers Pierre Biardeau et Antoine Charpentier.
Dans le quartier de Fenêt (entre les Ardilliers et Saint-Pierre) naquit à cette époque une industrie typiquement saumuroise et liée au pèlerinage : celle des chapelets et des médailles.

[EN] The pilgrimage was entrusted in 1614 to the Oratorians, a young congregation founded by Father de Berulle. Thanks to the action of the monks and the patronage of the great ones of the kingdom, rises, during the XVIIe century, an imposing architectural whole: declared church "Royal Chapel" and house of the Oratory, seat of a school of Theology .
Alongside Marie de 'Medici and Louis XIII, it is particularly the Cardinal Richelieu who will initiate a vast project through the construction of a votive and funerary chapel according to the plans of its architect Jacques Lemercier.
