The ~3 metre tall granite obelisk at the corner of Livingstone Street and Ocean Drive, was erected to commemorate those who fell in World War One. It has two white marble plaques on it, that list the 21 locals who died in 'the Great War'.

The two white marble plaques on the granite obelisk have the following inscriptions on them; with the southern one reading:

	In Memory of Our

The similar shaped white marble plaque on the western face of the obelisk reads:

At the start of the slightly meandering, but short path, from the south, to the Cenotaph, is a small angular, rectangular plinth with a bronze plaque that was placed in 2015, as a 100 year commemoration for ANZACs at Gallipoli, in 1915. It reads:

SOUTH WEST ROCKS RSL SUB BRANCH
		-----------
		 THE SPIRIT
		    LIVES
		 2014-2018
		-----------
In memory of those who gave their lives
for Australia in World War One

Their sacrifice and contribution to the Nation will never be forgotten.

Location of the ANZAC Commemorative Plaque, and the Cenotaph

There are also commemorative plaques for World War Two, and those that contributed to that war effort.

To the north of the obelisk, in front of a flag pole, is a low-angled concrete plinth with a bronze plaque, which commemorates the 50th Anniversary of WW2. It reads:

AUSTRALIA REMEMBERS	1945-1995

These trees were planted to commemorate
      The 50th Anniversary
of the end of World War II

We pay tribute to all members of the Armed Forces,
Merchant Mariners, and All who contributed to
the War Effort at home during the great Struggle
	   LEST WE FORGET

Then, on a steeply-angled, sawn and polished granite stela (in the photo above, to the right of the commemorative plaque - top left plaque), is a broad bronze plaque, with individual notations for the locals who went to World War Two, and have died since. They are in 4 columns of three rows each (instead of what is below, two columns of six.) The inscriptions read:
