It was in the spring of 1885 that one of history’s immortal “ Methodist Circuit Riders” came to Santa Anna with his saddlebags stuffed with books and tracts and organized the Santa Anna Methodist Episcopal, South.

The first membership record book shows Seth Bradner to have been the first person to be baptized in the Methodist Church. The date is registered as July 15, 1888, during the ministry of Rev. W. E. Caperton.
