Texas Historic Site AtlasA.O. Watson of Austin is the architect. The lodge's facade exhibits a more lavish use of granite than any other building in the district. Romanesque Influence is portrayed in rusticated, heavy granite lintels and sills, and in the arched portico, columns and proportions of the facade. Although its secondary (south) elevation is largely sandstone, the monochromatic use of the softer stone and regular coursing represent a unique and deliberate dressing of this material in the district.
