The old station Charroux is located on the former railway line of Lussac-les-Chateaux - Saint-Saviol, where she joined the line Paris-Bordeaux.
It served St-Martin l'Ars, Charroux and Civray. Passenger traffic stopped in 1939, and freight traffic in 1990.
The station was abandoned in 1938 following this closure. Today, the station is surrounded by the agricultural cooperative; try to imagine the excitement of a train station, the locomotive smoke here.

Achat et échange de terrains pour aménager la route (chemin de grande communication N°35) qui y conduit, plantée d’arbres pour abriter les voyageurs du soleil et de la pluie. La gare fonctionna jusqu’en 1938."
