About the memorial:One of two parish memorials in this village, the other being at the church. Memorial set in a yellow sandstone plinth with a Celtic cros at the top. There are two bronze plaques towards the base and the right side panel has been carved at a later date to commemorate WW2. The memorial was unveiled on 06 April 1921 by Lieutenant Governor Major-General Sir William Fry, K.C.V.O., C.B. Isle of Man National Inventory of War Memorials: IOM_NIWM_BAL_00002
