Hutto is proudly known as the “Hippo Capital of Texas". The Hutto Chamber of Commerce has cement hippos for sale. Each owner gets to paint/decorate their own.

The eye care center shows its hometown pride with a hippo to the left of their entrance. The hippo is painted gold and is wearing black glasses. It has the business name on each side surrounded by peacock feathers that look like eyes.
